Background Checks
All students admitted into the Respiratory Care Program who will be taking courses which involve direct patient care will be required to submit to a criminal background check at their own expense. Information from the background check deemed to be detrimental to the care of patients will result in dismissal from the program.
The background check will include the following:
- Social security number and identity verification,
- Criminal search (7 years) national and country,
- Violent Sexual Offender and Predator Registry Search,
- Office of Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities,
- General Services Administration (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs
- U.S. Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), List of Specially Designated Nationals (SDN)
Students will request and pay for the standard College of Heatlh Sciences background check through the approved company. Results of the check are released to the Department of the admitting program and to the student.
